Well, the rain certainly did pour on this day. It was a gorgeous wedding in January and spirits were high, despite the awful weather.
This wedding was not only on a budget but they also only had 3 months to plan it – EEK! The groom was from Lebanon and they had met in Dubai. Due to complicated visa issues (that I can’t even begin to understand) they had a very short window in which to marry so this was a lastminute.com wedding but you would absolutely never know.
A lot of the decorations had been bought from Ikea and the bride cut corners on time and money by re-using some shoes she already had from new look (genius)! They got married in a cute registry office in the central Reading before the reception in Sonning. It was a very intimate affair with only close friends and family. Unfortunately (again due to visa restrictions and timings) the groom’s family couldn’t come over to join the celebrations but they were planning on having another intimate celebration in Lebanon with them.
The whole wedding was an absolute dream from the moment I got there and was greeted by a very bubble Nisha (the hair and make up artist) right up until the sparklers were lit to mark the end of the night. There was so much love shared on this day and I came away feeling all gooey!
Top tip: when using sparklers at your wedding, make sure that you buy plenty of lighters and LONG sparklers (otherwise they tend to go out quickly before some of the sparklers have even been lit).
